Back in 2001, we left Holland and embarked on a seven month trip (while waiting for Fred's immigration papers to go through). First stop was San Francisco - a fun city with lots to see and do. America is expensive, so we recommend going the first week of the month when most attractions are free! We spent the first week of November there. This is San Fran's most famous bridge: The Golden Gate. At that time heavily guarded because it was shortly after 9/11 and all of America was on high alert.
