During our second trip to Australia, we decided that we really wanted to see the lesser travelled Northwest corner of the country. However, this part of the country only has two seasons, so we had to time it so that we got there for the dry season, but it has been dry long enough that the roads were open. We started in Darwin, travelled through the Gibb River Road (a former cattle route that stretches almost 700 kilometres), onto Broome and then back via the highway to Darwin. It was a 17 days, 4500km trip with many many highlights. We rented a 4WD camper van, and off we went, with Krista's parents as our co-travellers.
